Cognetti de Martiis» Title: Einaudi e Albertini giornalisti (Einaudi and Albertini as journalists) Abstract: The paper deals with the relationship between Luigi Einaudi and Luigi Albertini mainly through the analysis of their correspondence (1903-1925). As it is well known Einaudi was one of the most important Italian political and public finance economists during the first part of 20th century. He was also an inexhaustible journalist. Luigi Albertini was the owner and the editor of the most important and influential Italian newspaper, the «Corriere della Sera», issued in Milan. In 1903 Albertini asked Einaudi for his collaboration as expert on economic matters and from that date on their collaboration was almost daily until 1925, when the fascist regime seized the ownership of the «Corriere» and fired Albertini. The huge quantity of articles written by Einaudi and the considerable private correspondence between Albertini and Einaudi are formidable tools for understanding the dynamics of Italian economic history during its liberal age and the early fascist period. The paper is also focused on the different attitudes of Einaudi and Albertini on liberalism and the concrete consequences of its possible application to the Italian situation Classification-JEL: B10, B31 Keywords: giornalismo economico; storia economica italiana; opinione pubblica (economic journalism; Italian economic history; public opinion) Journal: Il Pensiero Economico Italiano Pages: 103-124 Volume: 18 Issue: 1 Year: 2010 File-URL: http://www.libraweb.net/articoli.php?chiave=201006301&rivista=63 Handle: RePEc:pei:journl:v:18:y:2010:1:5:p:103-124
