(The charm of dictionaries. Reflections on the 'documentary history' by Massimo Augello)
Abstract: This paper presents some personal recollections and considerations over the importance and originality
of Massimo Augello’s Dictionary. More particularly we try to suggest some further potentialities
of this major reference work after all the contributions it has managed to offer and stimulate in
the past on behalf of the growth of studies devoted to the history of Italian economic thought.
Possible research fields are suggested, such as some devoted to some still rather unknown Italian economist
of the past although some special emphasis is put on the originality of the numerous studies
