Epicarmo Corbino e le due guerre mondiali (What is the purpose of the merchant marine? Since 1917, Corbino write several times about this strategic sector, that the two world wars undergoing a deep process of change and reorganization. His analysis is founded on liberal postulates, pointing out that the usual practice of the State aid not only infringes the laws of the market, but also damages the shipping and shipbuilding industry itself, by reducing its efficiency and competitiveness. The Corbino’s judgments, although not always supported by a solid basis of data, often appear original and play a central role in the Italian economic debate at that time on a subject of such great interest.
